Ive been creative all my life, but the visual arts came to me much later in adulthood. In 2011, I started stringing beads and learned basic wire-wrapping for necklaces, bracelets, and lots of earrings, and it became compulsive, exploding with creativity. I would bring pieces to work and my co-workers would come by to see the latest designs, purchasing many of them. That led to making more and more sophisticated designs and developing new techniques to keep up with demand. Since then, I have branched out to include making rings, designing with natural stones, alternate metals like cooper and brass, leather cords, and making my own components. This year, I added sculpting polymer clay into beads and focal pieces to my repertoire, and have just started creating with glass fusion. I get a lot of satisfaction from making my own components.
There is also great care to create for all people, so my bracelets come in many sizes, or are adjustable, and easier to put on for those who may struggle. All non-stud earrings can be converted to clip-on, and most of the earrings I make have lever-back closures for security. I make very few necklaces shorter than 16” and the shorter ones are adjustable choker styles.
